If it were me; I'm saying something and reading their faces. Maybe there is a long standing conflict and murder was on the mind. I think you could read that off most people's faces. And if the dude is surprised; maybe he doesn't go through with it? Maybe it causes the event to happen later but at least I would feel the ball is out of my court. And if he does still go through it (maybe it wasn't premeditated and a heat of the moment... maybe saying something actually put this seed in his head) well then you have a public record between people having said something and it would be difficult to cover it up. People would then pay you for your gift of premonition.
